Recipes: Spicy Carrot Clementine Juice
Saturday marked the official launch of the New Year Whole Body & Mind Detox eCourse! I couldn’t be more pleased with the group that’s gathered from around the world to learn, cleanse and grow together. This week, we’re focusing on eliminating inflammatory foods from our diets and drawing from nourishing, alkalizing whole foods to boost our energy and build a strong foundation before our juice cleanse. I’ll be sharing more of our journey over the next several weeks via instagram and Facebook, keep in touch with us there! So far, this juice has become one of new winter favorites of the cleanse. It’s a vitamin C boosting root juice with lots of fresh ginger and turmeric to stimulate circulation and keep my body warm in these colder days. I’ve shared with you all about the benefits of turmeric, here are a few good reason why to love on fresh ginger, too!
Ginger, Zingiber officinale, contains potent anti-inflammatory compounds known as gingerols. Documented studies have shown ginger dramatically reduces swelling and joint pain. Other studies have found that gingerol inhibits growth of cancer cells in the body. Here are a few more nutritional benefits of this super root:
- Boosts digestion and soothes upset stomachs
- Approves absorption and assimilation of nutrients
- Helps to lower high blood pressure and reduce high LDL cholesterol
- Ginger contains anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, helpful in killing Candida in the body
8-10 carrots
6 clementines, peeled
1-inch ginger
4 pieces fresh turmeric (or 1/2 tsp ground turmeric)
Scrub the carrots well to remove any dirt, trim the tops of the carrots. Remove the peels from the clementines. Process all ingredients through your juicer. If using ground turmeric, pour juice into a glass and stir in the turmeric until well combined. Stir in the essential oil. Enjoy within 30 minutes of juicing or pour into an airtight container to store in your refrigerator for up 36 hours.
Beautiful-thank you!
Thank you for the kind words! I hope you enjoy the recipe!
Have been craving this….and finally made it today. Forgot carrots…which is sad because I love to juice them. SO we’ve got spicy clementine + cinnamon boost! 🙂 <3 you.
How often would you recommend this particular juice?
Hi Jan! This is a great winter time juice you can enjoy as often as you would like. I try to enjoy a juice each day, but like to rotate out different green juice and root juice recipes throughout the week to receive a variety of nutrients and benefits.
Thank you for your quick response. We have been juicing each morning, am looking forward to trying the recipe. Enjoyed the evening at The Point, where we sampled yummy food, including the Sweet Potato Felafel (which I then made today). I started using Young Living Essential Oils this summer, I have a lot to learn–was interesting to see it among the ingredients! I’m enjoying looking around your website. Thanks.
Amazing! So tasty! Bright and delicious.
