Manda Agni - The Slow Fire

Your digestive fire burns low. Your appetite is gentle, meals can leave you heavy, and the afternoon slump is real. In Ayurveda, this is Manda Agni, a slow fire. It just needs the right kindling: movement, warming spices, and lighter meals to bring it back to life.

Questions About My Digestive Type

Is my digestive type the same as my Dosha?

No. Your "Dosha" is your inborn metabolic type. This doesn't change. Your digestive type describes how your digestion is working right now, and how to eat for what you need at this time of your life. A person of any constitutional type (e.g. Vata, Pitta, Kapha) can experience any one of these digestive types.

Can my digestive type change?

Yes. Seasons, stress, travel, illness, and eating habits all shift your digestive fire. Positive changes in your diet and lifestyle will also put you on a new track. Retake the quiz each season to see where your digestion is now.

Do I have to eat only Slow Burn recipes?

Not at all. This digestive type does best with lighter, warm, well-spiced meals, eaten when you're truly hungry. Use the "Dosha Notes" modifications to adapt to what you need.

How soon will I notice a difference?

Everyone is different. Small, steady changes matter more than drastic ones, so start with one or two digestive tips and try new recipes to see how you feel over a few weeks.
